[x86] geos: support cpu MSR register and flashrom for coreboot upgrades
The early versions of the platform shipped with coreboot 3.0, which had some issues rebooting correctly the first time.
Allow the user to upgrade his BIOS from Linux.

linux-atm: Solos card requires explicit buffer size to br2684ctl
The default send buffer size of 8192 potentially can run past the end of the buffer (skb) and trash memory.
Explicitly setting a limit is required.
