Removed fullscreen-shell entirely; deprecated (but not yet removed) xdg-shell-v6, the GStreamer-based remoting plug-in and the old Pipewire virtual-output plug-in in favour of the new first-class backend-pipewire backend. Improved Perfetto traces with debug annotations, further HDR/colour-management work (grayscale output colour effect, better inversion documentation), new DRM connector properties (color-format, underscan/margin), DRM state-reuse and plane-handling rework, Vulkan renderer explicit-synchronisation and non-axis-aligned rotation support, and a large number of memory-leak and use-after-free fixes across the DRM/GL/Vulkan/xdg-shell code paths. The old 'pipewire' and 'remoting' meson options were renamed to 'deprecated-pipewire' and 'deprecated-remoting' upstream (migrating to the first-class 'backend-pipewire' option, already explicitly disabled here); updated accordingly, otherwise meson configure would fail with "Unknown options". Verified every other MESON_ARGS option referenced by this Makefile still exists unchanged in 16.0.0's meson_options.txt. Also add an explicit PKG_RELEASE:=1 line (version bump resets it from the prior package's PKG_RELEASE:=2). No patches to refresh. Also add an explicit PKG_RELEASE line (was previously undefined). Several Xwayland hardening fixes for handling malformed/malicious client input: an out-of-bounds strndup() in read_surface_class(), removed VLAs for MIME type atom lists, use of const pointers for xcb_get_property_value(), no longer relying on the (removable) xcb_get_property_reply_t.value_len field, a WM_TRANSIENT_FOR length check, and checks against duplicate/mistyped WL_SURFACE_ID association messages. Also: intersect the visible area with the output layout in update_node_update_outputs(), don't send a new dmabuf feedback after a scene node is disabled, set CLOEXEC on client FDs in security_context_v1, emit set_parent when an Xwayland parent surface is destroyed, and check the drag-and-drop action/accepted state on touch-up.
